POSITION: Project Accountant
Responsible for the Job Cost, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Subcontractors Accounts Payable. This position reports directly to the Accounting Supervisor, and indirectly to Controller.
Enter all change orders, back charges, subcontracts, award analysis, and projected adjustments into the system
Prepare & distribute all monthly job cost reports to the Project Managers and Project Executives.
Prepare the closeout all completed jobs
Prepare and enter direct cost entries, as needed
Prepare quarterly reports for related projects
Prepare and enter monthly billings to various Joint Venture partners
Enter and analyze monthly owner requisitions (accounts receivable, retainage receivable and contract revenue).
Enter job-related and miscellaneous cash receipts into the system.
Primarily responsible for the processing and maintenance of accounts payable function to the subcontractor
Enter all subcontractor pay vouchers and vendor invoices into the accounting system
Requires either a 4-year degree in Accounting or substantial, commensurate construction accounting experience in job costing in a construction accounting environment. Basic skills for this position requires knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the accounting disciplines of job cost accounts receivable and general ledger. In addition, this position should have a good understanding of Microsoft office. Knowledge of Jonas Software is highly preferred.
- File/scan all change orders, back charges, and other related documentation
- Train project managers on how to read and use job cost reports, train on the usage of Jonas and preparation of accounting forms
- Assist in the annual audit with the independent auditors
